To say that 2016 was a weird year at both the personal and worldwide senses is quite an understatement. I won’t comment on anything about the weirdness, as I want to keep my blood pressure at healthy levels.
What I will say is that a lot of good things happened to me this year, thankfully, too many to count despite the madness. Many challenges, many new circumstances, many learning opportunities.
One of the things that I am particularly grateful for is that my emerging writing career seems to be taking off. This year, God willing, will see the publication of my next book, titled Strange Survivors. It is about a series of peculiar animals and the survival strategies that they use. It is a popular science book, absolutely non-technical. I will give you more details as the publication date gets closer. I am beyond excited! I want to give special thanks to my friend and personal editor Sari, of The View From Sari’s World blog. Strange Survivors became a much better manuscript once it passed through Sari’s expert hands and mind. From the bottom of my heart, thank you… (:-)
Also, I am very close to publish a children’s book, hopefully in the next couple of weeks. This one is about planarians, and is intended to be enjoyed by kids up to about 10 years old. It is titled Arrow, the lucky planarian, and I commissioned the beautiful illustrations from the very talented Ethan Kocak. This book is meant to educate and entertain. Stay tuned!P
I have a couple additional writing projects in mind, both at the professional level, as well as on the narrative nonfiction side. I will keep you guys posted as new information becomes available.
Please let me know what you think!
I thank each and every one of you, my faithful readers for still following me, and I wish you a great 2017!
